What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient energy healing methodology, which was originated in India and later discovered by a Japanese doctor Dr Mikao Usui in 1922 at Mount Kurama. That is the reason it is also called “Usui Reiki” and “Traditional Reiki”. Reiki word is a combination of two words: Rei and ki. Rei means “Supreme power” and ki means “life force energy”, hence Reiki is “life force energy guided by supreme power” or “Universal Life Energy”. Reiki followers consider this Universal Life Energy as the key factor of life. It works at all the four levels of existence: Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual. Reiki therapy can be done through touch as well as without touch also. Distance healing also can be done through Reiki and equally effective as Reiki done in person. Our Reiki forefathers are Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, and currently in practice, Phyllis Furumoto.
Five Principles of Reiki
Usui formulated five principles of Reiki. Reiki healers and practitioners should follow these principles with honesty. These principles empower them in their healing practices.

As a Master /Teacher, I often host classes and preform Reiki attunments. My lineage is one Master/Teacher under Phyllis Lei Furumoto, who is the currently the Reiki Grand Master in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of healing.
Phyllis was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1948. Throughout her childhood she often treated her grandmother with Reiki but did not attend a class. At the age of 30, she accompanied her Grandmother Takata on a teaching trip to Puerto Rico. It was there that she first learned about Reiki, learned about the practice, and heard the stories of Reiki. This was a turning point for Phyllis and, a year later, she made the commitment to continue a path of Reiki and mastery.
In December 1980, Hawayo Takata died, leaving 22 masters to carry on her work. I was attuned by one of those 22 masters. Purity of heritage is import in your journey as a healer if you wish to carry this lineage and tradition from its source.
